B. Xen Osiris Zane’s Cursed Worlds Book series follows a group of supernatural beings all connected by a long forgotten curse.   When unknown ancient enemies resurface, they need to uncover fact from fiction; who to trust and who to destroy. 

     Although most of the series takes place in the human world.  The first book begins in the realm of the fae where an assassination attempt creates the first Elven Vampire.  Vampires have never crossed over into the faerie realms before.  Which raises a couple questions… How did the vampires cross over to the Faerie Realm, and was introducing a new supernatural being into the human world accidental, or is it all part of a greater master plan. 

Zane’s  books feature LGBTQQIA characters as well as heterosexual ones.  He feels it important to have inclusion and representation of all genders and sexual orientations.  The title character in Blood Elf is a gay man in love with his warband partner.  The book also features Guaran, an intelligent, skillful, non-binary (fluidian) dungeon guard who strives to become a Knight of the Fae court.

 Zane also loves to explore the roads less traveled by.  In Cursed & the Tall Man, you will meet Gavin, an FTM vampire turned in the 1930’s, before the invention of synthetic testosterone. You will also meet  the love of his life, Lily, who he met in the 50’s.   In most stories, the romance between a vampire and a mortal, eventually leads to the mortal being turned.  In these books, Lily is now in her 80’s.   Even at her age she will do anything to protect her loved ones, even if it leads to murder.  

The connection between the different books lie within the characters.  They may not always be aware of one another, but their actions may affect them all.  You will find main characters in one book, may be supporting ones in the next and in time our heroes and villains may find themselves having to rely on each other to achieve their goals. 

The stories will sometimes incorporate a fantasy element,  The first, book,  Blood Elf has one foot in the Faerie realm and the other in NYC, combining both fantasy and supernatural horror genres.    The fantasy genre is absent in second book, The Cursed & the Tall Man, which has a deeper horror theme, following a supernatural serial killer in New England.
